If you are like most other individuals and families, your finances may be tight. There are many families who are just scraping by and others are the on the border of debt. If this situation sounds all too familiar, a summer vacation may be the last thing on your mind. If you and your family are interested in taking a summer vacation, you can, no matter what your financial situation.

When you plan your vacation do not chose a location based on saving money. Instead select where you want to go and then -with proper planning- find ways to cut costs such as hotels, travel, restaurants and attractions. This way you get your dream vacation yet stay in your budget.

The beach is a popular summer vacation destination. There are many resorts close to the water that offer package deals. Thus helping to keep costs down. Of course the distance you travel can also have an effect on the overall price. Once again proper planning and research can make or break your budget.

People often think that beach destinations will cost too much. One trick is insted of staying at the oceanside resort find a place that is just a little inland. You will be surprised at how much the costs can go down this way even though you are still within walking distance to the beach. Matter of fact the same can be said about restaurants. If they are on the beach they tend to be more expensive and often times not as good as they rely on their location rather than their quality to bring them business.

Remember this when planning your vacation!

Disneyland and Disneyworld are great places to take a summer vacation whether with kids, friends or as a get away for couples who can be kids again -even if only for the vacation! These theme parks have a variety of packages that include airfare, hotel, admission and restaurants.

You can have a great summer vacation by watching your budget.

You may recognize many of the above mentioned summer vacation destinations. Popular vacation destinations do not have to be financially out of your reach. Simply by cutting a few corners, you could be vacationing along side the rest of America, even while on a budget.

Do you love to travel?

I have been traveling for decades, over the years I have designed my life around my love of travel. Travel isn’t for everyone but I do recommend that everyone travel some in their life. That said I will give you the reasons I travel and why everyone should travel to some degree. I don’t mean just leave the house, I mean a new city or better yet a new country. Learn a new language in the process!

I suppose the first reason I travel is to live. Everyone has gotten too tied up in their lives of working forty plus hours a week. People have come down to work all week, take care of kids and family, shop, and watch television. Honestly, is that anyway to really live? Shouldn’t life be a bit more exciting and adventurous? It is this kind of life is why people end up divorced and unhappy, they forget how to live. They don’t remember what it is like to sit in a coffee shop and just talk with people while you relax. They don’t remember what it is like to explore a new place or try new things. Do you ever relax? Do you know how?

The second reason are the people. Where ever you live there are good and bad people. Some become great friends and some you will never see eye to eye with. One thing I have found about traveling is when you are in a new city, a new country people will often be very helpful. Some do it so they can practice their English. Some do it because they enjoy talking to people from other countries. Some do it because in that country and society being friendly is just part of the way they live. They can be a great help, teach you a lot about the country and tell you the places most tourist never find. I have enjoyed so many times sitting in a local pub just being lead to the hideaway places for food and fun only the locals know about and never tell the tourists.

I think the third reason I travel is that life is short. Life is really short, what you do with yours will depend on a lot of how you were raised but also what you dream of a great life has been over the years. To me, working forty plus hours a week and spending my time off waiting to go back to work isn’t living. I feel like I am just waiting around to die. I don’t live to work, I work to live. Some people think only the rich can work to live. The real truth is everyone can work to live, you just have to decide which is more important, repairing your home and all the material things you buy day after day, week after week, and year after year. All of which are losing value each day, slowly failing apart, and you can’t take with you when you die anyway or experiencing the world and what the world really is like instead of just what you hear on television. Personally, I choose the world and the great things in our history.

Don’t wait around to die anymore, get off your butt and go travel!!!!

Travel is one of life’s pleasures, enjoy it! Do you Travel? What are you missing if you don’t?

You Search For Cheap Flights

You see a flight to Orlando from California listed for less than $100. However, there are restrictions on most plane tickets which will influence the total ticket price. Some travel websites offer genuine low airfare and het there are those who say they offers low prices but when you get the bill there’re other charges that increase your final bill. It is hard to know what a real cheap air fare is and what is purely and illusion. Here are ea few things to think about.

When making cheap airfare reservations, be aware most will be non-refundable or non-transferable. There is no exchange of tickets once their purchased. You’ll discover occasional opportunities where you can apply a portion of your ticket to another trip, as long as you’re firm in your commitment the other flight. The exchange on the rebooking is usually one hundred dollars plus the remaining difference. It’s a good idea to be certain of your rights and the conditions at the time you buy the ticket.

In airline pricing, there are taxation components applied to the initial cost of your flight. There are numerous travel websites where you’ll see thing in plain language as you assemble your bill on screen. There are other travel sites and agents who will not disclose this extra until you’re about to pay for the ticket. These fees may be applied towards your credit card.

You should read every word on the screen or printed page, so that you’ll understand what the conditions are as you purchase of the ticket. You’ll then want to compare the offers between travel sites or agents. Just remember that when a deal looks too good it will generally prove too good to be true. For example, if you see a ticket price under a hundred dollars, be certain to check the sale conditions. You may actually be looking at the price of one-way fare.

It stands to reason that in order to get back home you’ll have to pay at least twice that much in order to travel to and from your holiday destination. A sixty nine dollars fare for example will probably come in at around one hundred and forty dollars.

The key to discovering cheap flights or discounted airfare is your ability to visit as many websites at a time as possible. As you do this, compare offerings. You’ll soon figure out which is the best for your needs. If you can be flexible on your departure dates you’ll definitely save cash that can be used on your vacation. You’ll find out more information at the following internet address-know-discount-airfare – website. This site will explain discount fares around the world including the Asia pacific region. If you keep these guidelines in your mind as you search for cheap flights, you will be aware of the dangers and pick your flight accordingly.

Where Can You Find Cheap Airline Tickets?

December 25, 2010 by Mike Williams · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Cheap Airfares

When you are looking for cheap airline tickets, you have to be willing to search a little and not assume the first fare you find is the best one. There is a wide range of prices available among the various sources for airline tickets. The following strategies will help you to locate cheap airline tickets the next time you have to fly somewhere.

Generally, the most effective option for finding a lower priced plane ticket is to book your flight as far in advance as possible. The general rule of thumb is to book your flight at least 21 days before you plan to fly, however there are certain times during the year that it should be done earlier. If you are trekking to a mainstream locale during the summer months or the holiday season, you really need to reserve your plane tickets more than a month before the event if you are able to.

Obviously, there are some specific means for finding lower priced plane tickets that involve making reservations at the very last minute, like standby flight, however this is a bit different and requires some malleability in dates and times. In most cases, the best way to get cheap airline tickets is to reserve as early as you can. You can often find less expensive tickets by having flexibility, when it comes to your area of interest. As anticipated, if you are flying into Los Angeles, you are not going to want to fly to Miami, however there are a lot of instances, which allow you to opt for a nearby airport that has a cheaper ticket on the date you want to fly. For illustrative purposes, individuals flying to (from) New York can sometimes discover lower priced plane tickets in New Jersey, which is nearby and accessible via public transit. Likewise, when it comes to European cities, if you come across a lower priced plane ticket to a country that is fairly close, it might be more economical for you to purchase your ticket this way and ride on a train to your final destination. So when you search for cheap airline tickets, don’t rule out nearby destinations.

One perplexing thing about airline ticket prices that many people don’t recognize when hunting for low priced tickets is that round-trip prices are often times lower priced than one-way. While it’s logical that you would pay more for flying round-trip, which is, after all, twice the distance, the fact is that you will often pay more for a one-way ticket. The aim for this is that individuals flying one-way are not as mainstream as those flying round trip, and they also are generally less able to make changes, therefore the airlines don’t have any incentive to provide them with perks. What this also means is that, even if you just need a one-way ticket, you can usually discover a less expensive plane ticket if you buy a round-trip, even if you aren’t going to use up the second half of the ticket.

Next time you fly, there’s no reason you can’t find cheap airfare to do so. There are many sources where you can find discount fares, some of which we’ve looked at in this article. With time and the right mindset, you don’t have to pay full price for your airfare.

Weekend Breaks In Europe – A New Approach To Life: Amsterdam!

November 18, 2010 by Joran Dykstra · Leave a Comment

A few weeks ago I decided to take my wife and kids to The Netherlands and visit Amsterdam. And what a great idea it was. This city (I had never been there before) was an incredible experience. It is a monument in itself (although they are doing a lot of work on a new metro line, which makes it a bit messy in the city I must say).

Anyway, first thing we did was visiting a market called Albert Cuyp (which I believe was some mariner from the good old days) and this was quite an experience. I wish we had such markets in my own country. You could really buy anything (well, almost anything) from watches to flowers and all kinds of food. You could also really see that Surinam has been a part of the Netherlands once. A lot of people from this area now live in Holland and there are plenty of them on the market selling their goods.

Next thing we did was seeing a movie in a theatre called Tuschinski’s (I hope I spell it right). Gee, this place was so nice!! Apparently it was renovated recently, but the guy in the cinema told us it was built in the late 1800′s by a guy called Tuschinski. Well, he did a remarkable job. It just breathes history this place and I have never seen a cinema like it anywhere. And I must say it was looking a lot better than the movie we saw, of which I can not even remember the title.

Right after that, we visited a square called Leidseplein, where we had a drink on one of the (heated) terraces. When you sit there, you can see all kinds of people passing by from a lot of different cultures. Amsterdam has inhabitants from 167 nationalities as we could read in an advertisement in the streetcars.

Our day today ended with a visit to a splendid restaurant called Casa Peru. It was recommended to us by some locals who had a reservation and didn’t manage to go, so we took their places. The restaurant, located along the canals, serves South American food and although the name of the dishes didn’t sound too promising, the food was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, when you go to Amsterdam, it will be hard to get to this restaurant, because you have to reserve weeks in advance. Anyway, that was Amsterdam today. Hope you visit sometime.

Help Is Here…. You Need To Get It Now!

My wife was recently traveling to a meeting while driving on interstate 94. Unbeknown to her as she approached Minneapolis, major construction had begun that morning. As she approached, a construction exit sign ushered all traffic off the highway and dumped them into the city.

Everyone was now being dumped into the city. Being unfamiliar with the city streets, and absolutely no detour signage to rely on, she was in a jam. Her meeting was scheduled at 8:30AM and time was slipping away. Fortunately, we have free concierge service from the travel and vacation booking website. She picked up her phone and called them right away for help.

So… you never heard of this before? Let me help you. The next time you book an airline ticket with this web site, you will receive 30 minutes of free concierge service. You can use it anytime. Ask them anything. This is what they are there for. Try it once, you will love it and be hooked like we are!

Now, returning to the story, she is on the phone talking to the concierge. He is calm, and calming her down too all the while beginning to understand what is at issue. Timing was everything at this point and he knew just what to do.

The concierge is always sitting in front of a computer, and before long had researched the Minnesota highway department’s web site for road closures. Apparently the highway department failed to tell anyone about this closing. Not good! The concierge began to give her step-by-step guidance back to the highway on the other side of the city.

After 30 minutes of maneuvering through the city, the concierge was still on the phone with her. This was above and beyond the call of duty. This was Priceless!

In an event like this, without the concierge service this could have been horrible event for my wife. Fortunately it was not. Our belief in this company is now through the roof. We will always book our travel and vacations here. Let’s here it for Rovia! Awesome…
